Traditional/Artisan Tailor
Our pricing is based on our mode of production. As a traditional tailor we use the artisan mode of production whereby one artisan makes one garment. There is no production line for the sewing. This means we can only produce in low volume. While we cannot do cheap prices we can provide quality, great fit, and guarantee the workmanship.
Pricing Policy
Our prices are published in a folder in our shop, which is available for customers. Some of our prices are by quotation, predominantly for women’s clothing and some repairs and alterations. We also have from time to time Combination Specials for clients who want to buy a combination of products.
For all new work including tailored clothing and repairs and alterations, the prices are fixed. We have given you our lowest price. Our prices are fair and this is the overwhelming feeling of our customers.
We can however discount some of the ready-to-wear (RTW) stock. The ready-to-wear items in our store were all made in our workshop. We need a turnover of stock so with slow moving items the staff can discount. Most of the casual shirts can be discounted, as we want to sell all our casual shirt stock and only offer casual shirts by tailoring. The main purpose of the suits is to show customers examples in our current fabrics. Once a fabric is out of stock, we prefer to sell the suits made in fabrics we no longer stock, so these suits are available for discount. The staff will point out the items that are available for discount. Normally we don’t discount business shirts and business pants, as this is our fastest moving stock.
Off-the-Rack Clothing
The RTW stock in our store represents best value. We don’t try and promote the more expensive tailored versions ahead of the RTW collection. For men’s shirts we have over 60 sizing options in three heights and two fits (regular and slim). We can fit almost anyone off the rack. Pants are available in two heights and two fits (regular and slim). So please consider purchasing RTW given our large range of sizes. If you are happy with the size and fit, but prefer a fabric that is not available on the rack, then we can make a new item at a slightly higher price.
