BESPOKE TAILORING
Bespoke tailoring is traditional tailoring and comes in two forms. Measurements are taken, a new pattern is made, and then the client comes in for a number of fittings until they are satisfied. On average it requires more fittings than Made-to-Measure (MTM) tailoring.
The less common form of bespoke tailoring is when a client brings in an item of clothing and wants an exact copy made, or a copy with some sizing alterations or style variations. We call the first way BESPOKE MEASURED and the second way BESPOKE COPIED.
Bespoke Measured is more expensive then MTM tailoring as it involves more work especially for the patternmaker. Bespoke Copied is the most expensive option as it is VERY time intensive for the patternmaker. The good news is that once the pattern is made additional garments are charged at the MTM rate.
There are some dangers involved with Bespoke Copied garments, especially in women's clothing. It is rare that the original fabric and the new fabric are similar in feel when worn. No matter how accurate the copy is, the fit This is more pronounced for close fitting garments.
In men's clothing we have noticed this effect in SLIM FIT clothing only. SLIM FIT has additional challenges for both men and women as a very small segment of the population can either tolerate or actually feel comfortable in SLIM FIT clothing. In shirts SLIM FIT clothing does not constrain movement but you will feel the stretch of the fabric. If you don't like this feeling, then it is best you go for a STANDARD FIT. A very small number of people are not even comfortable in a STANDARD FIT and require a LOOSE FIT (also referred to as RELAXED and COMFORT fits).

Bespoke Copied
Please understand that we cannot copy an item of clothing that is the unique creation of another person or company. This is more relevant for women's clothing.
There are some issues involved with Bespoke Copied garments, especially in women's clothing, to be aware of. It is rare that the original fabric and the new fabric are similar in feel when worn. No matter how accurate the copy is, the new garment may not feel the same as the original garment. This is more pronounced for close fitting garments.
